Spring is coming!
I forgot how much I love to crochet these small hearts. They are quick to make up and can be used for so many different things. This day I was in the mood for hair clips. I picked up some simple metal snap hair clips and grabbed some left over yarn in pretty spring time colors. Just like that, I added awesomeness to these boring metal clips!
This trio of colors makes me happy.
These little guys are available for sale in the Etsy shop =)
If you’re feeling like trying some of these little hearts out yourself, here is the pattern with original pattern credit going to Skip to my Lou. I have just written it out a little easier for beginners to understand, like meeee. But feel free to head on over and pay her a visit to thank her for it!

the following stitches will all go into the 4th chain from the hook:

- 3 double crochet
- chain 1
- 1 treble crochet
- chain 1
- 3 double crochet
- 3 treble crochet
- chain 2

2. chain 3
the following stitches will go around the heart and NOT into the center like the first round.

- into the next stitch:
> 3 half double crochet
- into the next stitch
> 2 half double crochet
- 1 single crochet into each of the next 4 stitches
- chain 1
- double crochet in to the top of the treble crochet (which is going to look like the pointy bottom end of the heart)
- chain 1
- 1 single crochet into each of the next 4 stitches
- into the next stitch:
> 2 half double crochet
- into the next stitch
> 3 half double crochet
- into the next stitch
> half double crochet, single crochet
- chain 3
- slip stitch into the center
- tie off!
How do you attach the heart to the clip?
A glue gun works really well =)
