I had a special request this week for a lace sash to be worn with a dress. After studying the sample picture I was challenged with, I hit the fabric store in search of the perfect materials. Luckily I came across the perfect lace already cut to the size I was looking for. After much brainstorming on how to go about creating the ribbon tie on the back of the sash, I decided to use some more ribbon sewn directly onto the ends of the fabric. For the loops I thought elastic would prove to be the most practical as it would allow for a little bit of give when being worn. Sewing all the parts together was a little tricky due to the delicate lace and silky ribbon but I gave it a good try. I can’t wait to see how the sash looks once it’s paired with a dress!
