DIY – Puppy Plush Toy

Ever notice how expensive pet toys are?  Ever notice how short the life span of most of them are? When you have a great dane puppy, chew toys don’t last more than a few minutes! Our Ivy really enjoys the plush squeaky toys from the pet store.  If she really likes a particular toy she will give it a longer life of about 2 days.  Obviously, it can become quite expensive replenishing toys for a puppy.  So why not make them!

I had some leftover fleece fabric I had picked up in the remnant bin at JoAnns and some left over poly fill for stuffing.

After cutting rectangles out of the fabric, I sewed up 3 of the 4 sides, turn right side out, and stuffed it with the fluffy stuff doggies love so much!

I closed up the open end, making sure to triple stitch it closed!

I think my dog knew this was being made especially for her.  She sat behind me the whole time waiting for me to finish.  From start to finish, this project took me a whopping 5 minutes!! And I made two of them!

Just like I already knew, it lasted her about 10 minutes before she tore the thing apart.  Easy part is I can just re-stuff it and stitch it back up!
